Verdun, The Last Line
A downloadable game for Windows
Verdun: The Last Line
The year is 1916, and as a newly recruited soldier, you are stationed at Fort Douaumont in Verdun, due to expecting an imminent attack from the Germans. One day you finish your usual evening patrol on the outmost defensive line, you head to your sleeping quarters to rest before the next shift. Your sleep is disturbed by the sound of loud artillery fire from the Germans. To your horror, you realise that the attack is already in full swing, with you being left behind by your comrades. Now it is up to you to fight your way alone through the trenches of Verdun, back to the fort, and face the horrors of war along the way. All that you have left is your rifle and the hope that there isn't something worse out there than the Germans...
Please note that this game heavily relies on ingame sounds. Headphones are adviced.

Good game. Really well done for 3 Weeks of development. I like the realism.
Pros:
- Check ammo manually
- Its risky to leave the trenches
- No visual objective, you are thrown into the game like a disoriented Soldier
- Explorer on your own
- Enemy hits do a lot of damage and resources are sparse
- Great visuals (Gas effects, tremors etc.)
Cons:
What i found to be a bit annoying, is the fact that you need to completely stop in order to check resources. Maybe allow moving at 75 or 60% reduced speed while checking, or auto-close the menu when starting to move again.
Some minor graphical bugs(see reply).
